This is an awesome little tripod that works great. I'm using it with a Nikon D90 with battery grip (2 batteries) and holds well weight. the ball head on this tripod is sturdy for the application. I wanted a small, lightweight tripod that I could take it easily when I was mobile without having to take my biggest Manfrotto tripod with me. I have an iPhone 6 Plus, which is not in the event of any kind. the phone fits perfectly into the support provided, and mount attaches securely to the tripod. I do not believe that the mountain would work if you have your iPhone 6 Plus in every type of case, like mine barely fits into it with no case
